Bearing Units

Ball Bearing Units (Y-Bearing Units)

Conventional SKF ball bearing units consist of:

  • An insert bearing (Y-bearing) which is based on a single row deep groove ball bearing with a sphered (convex) outside surface and an extended inner ring
  • Ahousing, which has a correspondingly sphered but concave bore

Ball bearing units can accommodate moderate initial misalignment, but normally do not permit axial displacement. The SKF assortment includes units to ISO standards, North American standards, and Japanese Industrial Standards.
